Ministers Class Fellowship Group

A very warm and friendly welcome awaits all ladies at this devotional meeting, held on alternate Tuesday afternoons at 1.30 – 3.30pm in the Church lounge. Our Minister, together with other Ministers from our Church and Circuit, Local Preachers and friends, give us a “fortnightly spiritual uplift” which is very much appreciated by all who attend. We enjoy a summer garden meeting each August and celebrate Christmas together in December.

Our History

The Ministers class has a very long history at Poulton Methodist Church and dates back to when the Church was on the previous site in Chapel Street.

At the time there were two ladies meetings, one was for the younger wives of the Church (Afterwards called the ladies Fellowship) where there was a varied programme of speakers and activities. The minister’s class was somewhat different as it was very much a devotional meeting and each week the minister came to speak.

In about 2006 the numbers of both groups were dropping due to ill health of the members and deaths. So we decided to combine the two a have one fortnightly get together.

So we meet every other Tuesday afternoon and always start with a time of devotion before our speaker. Our Minister does not attend every meeting but we vary the speakers who come. We also enjoy times of social activities and have a Christmas party and a strawberry tea in July.

We have a committee who plan all that happens and help at all the meeting with hymn books, greeting members and preparing teas.
